India will get its first Skoda SUV with the RS nameplate in 2026
High-end cabin elements, a powerful 265-horsepower engine, and a sporty appearance
The performance-enhanced version of Skoda's seven-seat SUV, the Kodiaq RS, will debut in India by June 2026, the company has formally declared. This will be the first Skoda SUV in the nation to sport the coveted RS (Rally Sport) badge, which was previously only found on other high-performance models.
Impressive Engine and Performance
An upgraded 2.0-liter TSI turbo-petrol engine, taken from the Octavia RS, powers the Kodiaq RS. It generates 265 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, a significant boost over the output of the standard Kodiaq.
With all-wheel drive and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, this SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 231 km/h, making it one of the most impressive vehicles in its class.
Vivid Styles and High-End Interiors
With sportier design elements, the Kodiaq RS distinguishes itself visually. The sides have blacked-out features and 20-inch alloy wheels with red brake calipers, while the front end has a revised bumper and a darkened grille.
Compared to the normal Kodiaq, the overall attitude is more aggressive, suggesting that it performs better. With an all-black motif, red contrast stitching, and tightly bolstered seats with RS branding, the interior of the cabin highlights sportiness and luxury. The SUV's cockpit is equipped with a computerized driver display and a sizable 13-inch infotainment screen.
What This Signifies for Indian Purchasers
With the release of the Kodiaq RS, Skoda hopes to increase its appeal to enthusiasts who value performance without compromising practicality or space. Families may take advantage of the SUV's versatility thanks to its seven seats, and the RS tuning gives such a big car a unique sporting flavor.
The Kodiaq RS is expected to be priced between ₹55 lakh and ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom), according to industry observers, making it a high-end yet intriguing substitute for performance SUVs.
When the Skoda Kodiaq RS arrives in Indian showrooms next year, it will be well-positioned to carve out a special place for itself thanks to its powerful performance, unique appearance, and cozy cabin. Also read:
