Nissan Tekton SUV Spotted in Complete Camouflage Due to Delays in India's Launch

Nissan's next Tekton SUV, which is anticipated to represent the company's robust comeback to the mid-size market, has once again been seen undergoing testing in India while fully disguised. The model was originally scheduled to be unveiled in early February, but the launch date has been rescheduled, which has increased buyer anticipation. When the Tekton eventually makes its eagerly anticipated premiere, it hopes to compete with more established rivals thanks to its innovative platform, contemporary design cues, and promising engine options.

  • The much-anticipated Tekton SUV from Nissaseen testing once more being tested while heavily camouflaged.

  • There is still no new date set for the official unveiling, which was initially planned for February 4.

On February 4, 2026, the new Nissan Tekton, a mid-size SUV that will compete with well-liked competitors in the 4.2–4.4 m SUV segment, was scheduled to be presented. However, Nissan has not made an official declaration regarding the postponement of the launch. This model's test mules are still visible on Indian highways in complete camouflage, indicating that the last stages of development are still in progress.

Recently, a tightly covered prototype of the Tekton with sturdy 18-inch alloy wheels and broad tires was observed by automotive photographers close to Electronic City in Bengaluru. This prototype is probably a top-end version.

What We Currently Understand About the SUV

After the Kicks were discontinued in 2023, Nissan returned to this significant SUV market with the Tekton, which is constructed on the same platform as the future Renault Duster.

Despite the fact that the majority of the body is hidden, analysts say Nissan seems to be giving the Tekton a unique personality in contrast to its Renault sister.

According to spy photos, the front fascia should be sleeker with connected LEDs that run during the day, better body lines, and distinctive lighting features. The cabin may include a custom dashboard with contemporary features like a huge infotainment screen and a digital instrument cluster.

Engine Choices and Market Competitors

The Duster's engine lineup, which consists of a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol and a more potent 1.3-liter turbo unit, may be carried over to the Tekton, according to early sources. There may also be a powerful hybrid option that combines an electric motor and a 1.8-liter gasoline engine.

In India's congested mid-size market, the Tekton is anticipated to face competition from a long list of well-known SUVs, such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and Tata Sierra.

Explaining the Delay and What's Next

Along with the recently postponed Gravite MPV, which is now scheduled for a February 17 unveiling, the postponement is part of Nissan's larger product roll-out timetable in India. Nissan seems to be spreading out its releases in order to better coordinate marketing, production, and dealer preparation.

Nissan has not yet announced a new date for the Tekton's presentation. Following the completion of final testing and preparations, industry observers anticipate that the SUV could arrive by the middle of 2026.
