New-gen Kia Seltos spied in Hyderabad with design tweaks

The next-gen Kia Seltos has been spotted testing in Hyderabad, hinting at a major design overhaul and fresh features. With revised styling elements, new alloys, and the possibility of a hybrid powertrain, the SUV looks set to build on its popularity while staying competitive in India’s compact SUV segment.

The next-gen Kia Seltos is again captured on test, this time in Hyderabad, which gives us a closer view of the design changes it will undergo. The photos posted on the internet display a heavily disguised test mule, and based on these, it can be said that Kia is planning a full redesign of its compact SUV. The next version is scheduled for a formal release in the months to come.

Central changes on Many Exteriors

According to the latest spy photos, the Seltos appears to have a more modern and sharper design. New features are the dual-tone ORVMs, new headlight units, blocky wheel arch claddings, as well as the split taillights that make this car look even more roadworthy.

A compact rear overhang gives the SUV a more sporting posture, and the matte black alloy wheels are styled to help finish off the already striking outlook.

These changes will bring the Seltos closer to the latest design language of Kia, as evidenced on vehicles like the Santa Fe and Carnival abroad.

Powertrain Notes -Hybrid in the Future?

Mechanically, the current-gen Seltos, using 1.5-litre diesel and 1.5-litre petrol engines, would carry forward in the new-gen Seltos, to retain familiarity amid product lives.

The most important thing, however, is that a 1.5-litre hybrid power train could be introduced with this version. The introduced hybrid variant can provide Kia with a competitive advantage in its other models, such as the Toyota Hyryder and the Maruti Grand Vitara.

Schedule, anticipation of launching

The new-gen Kia Seltos is likely to be shown in India by the end of 2025. Contemporary touches, an updated style, and a potential hybrid powertrain should give the SUV the boost it needs to solidify Kia as a force in the crowded compact SUV marketplace.
