Maruti Suzuki has now officially entered electric mobility with the start of producing the e Vitara at its Hansalpur plant in Gujarat. The milestone will be the first all-electric SUV from the company, which is scheduled to arrive in India soon and be exported to many countries abroad.

e Vitara generated a lot of buzz at the Auto Expo 2025, being the most attractively priced mass-market EV with characteristics that are expected to retain full performance and features.

Battery Packs and Distance

The new SUV will feature two battery pack options: 61.1kWh and 48.8kWh. Both models will feature a single electric motor, with a range of 500km, on a single charge. To make it convenient, the SUV has DC fast charging that can recharge the battery to 80 percent in 50 minutes.

Models, Paint and Trim

Maruti Suzuki will introduce the Vitara with three trims: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. The buyers will also have an array of colour options that include 10 paint schemes of single-tone, such as Opulent Red, Bluish Black, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Nexa Blue, and dual-tone shades that include Land Breeze Green, Splendid Silver, Opulent Red, and Arctic White, all with a Bluish Black roof.

The styling builds a modern EV image with a blocked-up grille, slick alloy wheels, and unique LED navigation graphics.

Safety and an Interior-Scooped Interior

Notable features are the dual 10-inch screens, infotainment and instrumentation, an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats and wireless charging, as well as multiple drive modes.

Seven of the most safety-net features cover the car, comprising complex airbags, a driving assistance package and full-view camera, and power stability control units.

Looking Ahead

Already in production, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is soon launching in India and is also to be exported soon. It is also the first electric vehicle of the company which is supposed to be crucial in defining its electric strategy both, at home and internationally.
