Mercedes-Benz has introduced the G 500 Final Edition which celebrates thirty years of the original G-Wagon with a V8 engine. As the name suggests, this will be the last G 500 to sport a V8 engine. It can be had in three shades - Obsidian Black, Opalith White Magno and Olive Magno, each shade is limited to just 500 units. The company introduced the G-Wagon first in 1993 and now 30 years later, the company has released the Final Edition.
The Mercedes-Benz G 500 Final Edition wears 20-inch, five-twin-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels and is painted in body colour for the Olive Magno shade. The other two variants come shod with Black painted wheels. Other mentions include the ‘Final Edition’ sticker, the “G” logo, and “Stronger than mine” projected on the floor, printed on the inside and outside the vehicle. “Final Edition” also appears on the grab handles and the door sill trims. The interiors sport Nappa leather upholstery, a Burmester surround system, and dual-tone seats to name a few.
The Mercedes-Benz G 500 Final Edition uses a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo, V8 engine mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox that produces 415 bhp and 610 Nm of peak torque sent to all four wheels. The company will pull the plug on the V8 for the regular G-Wagon and it is likely to house a six-cylinder unit instead for the upcoming generation.
