Maruti Suzuki Expands Fronx Lineup With Striking Velocity Edition

Maruti Suzuki Expands Fronx Lineup with Striking Velocity Edition

Maruti Suzuki has unveiled an exciting new offering to its popular Fronx crossover lineup: the Fronx Velocity Edition. Initially launched as a limited edition, the Velocity Edition has now become a permanent addition across all variants, including both naturally aspirated and turbo petrol models. With its starting price set at Rs 7.29 lakh (ex-showroom), the Fronx Velocity Edition combines sporty aesthetics with the versatility and features that have made the Fronx a favorite among Indian car buyers.

What Sets the Fronx Velocity Edition Apart?

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx Velocity Edition belonging to the Fronx series has a more muscular and larger look as compared to its standard models. This configuration is mostly highlighted by a black and red colour combination, which is carried on the outer parts such as the bumper, the grille, the wheel arches and the headlights. This contrast of the loud colour between the two halves visually emphasizes the car’s aggression and its sporty disposition on the road.

As you move up the variant list, the enhancements become even more pronounced. Higher variants of the Velocity Edition come equipped with illuminated door sills, red mirror covers, and additional bodywork around the sides and rear, further enhancing the vehicle’s sporty character. A prominent spoiler adds to the aerodynamic profile, while the interior is upgraded with black seats featuring a stylish carbon finish, adding to the premium feel of the cabin.

Comprehensive Variant Lineup

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx Velocity Edition is available in a total of 14 different variants. These options include models powered by both the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the more powerful 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This extensive range ensures that buyers can choose the version that best suits their performance needs and budget preferences.

Despite the sportier exterior, the Fronx Velocity Edition retains the comprehensive feature set that is available in the standard Fronx models. Key features include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a head-up display for easy viewing of critical driving information, and a 360-degree camera system that enhances parking and maneuvering in tight spaces.

Unchanged Engine Specifications

Under the hood, the Fronx Velocity Edition remains mechanically identical to its standard counterparts. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers a solid 89bhp and 113Nm of torque, providing a balanced performance that is well-suited for everyday driving. For those seeking more power, the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine offers an impressive 99bhp and 148Nm of torque, delivering a more spirited driving experience.

In addition to these petrol engines, Maruti Suzuki also offers a CNG variant for those who prioritize fuel economy and lower running costs. This option further broadens the appeal of the Fronx Velocity Edition to a wider range of consumers.

Gearbox Options for Every Preference

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx Velocity Edition provides flexible transmission options to cater to different driving styles. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine is available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), which offers the convenience of an automatic while retaining the efficiency of a manual.

For the 1.0-litre turbocharged engine, buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The manual option provides a more engaging driving experience, while the automatic transmission is ideal for those who prefer a more relaxed and effortless driving style, especially in urban traffic conditions.

A Blend of Style and Substance

With the introduction of the Velocity Edition, Maruti Suzuki has successfully infused the Fronx lineup with a fresh dose of style and excitement. The striking black and red exterior accents, combined with the enhanced interior and the availability of multiple variants and engine options, make the Fronx Velocity Edition an appealing choice for those looking for a sporty yet practical crossover.

As Maruti Suzuki continues to expand its lineup and innovate with new editions like the Velocity, the Fronx remains a standout model in the competitive compact SUV segment. The Fronx Velocity Edition is poised to attract buyers who appreciate bold design and comprehensive features in a versatile and affordable package.

In summary, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx Velocity Edition is more than just a visual upgrade. It represents a fusion of enhanced aesthetics and practical features that cater to a wide range of driving needs and preferences. With this new edition, Maruti Suzuki continues to set the bar high in the crossover market, offering a vehicle that is as stylish as it is functional.
