Mahindra Unveils Upgraded XUV400: New Interior and Features at Starting Price of Rs 15.49 Lakh

Mahindra has rolled out the refreshed XUV400, priced from Rs 15.49 lakh, with the top-spec EL Pro variant reaching Rs 17.49 lakh (introductory prices applicable until May 31, 2024). Bookings for this enhanced model begin tomorrow at 2 pm, requiring a deposit of Rs 21,000, and deliveries are scheduled to commence from February 1.

Interior Overhaul:

While the XUV400 remains mechanically unchanged, the spotlight is on the redesigned interior. The star of the show is the new 10.25-inch floating touchscreen, triggering a significant redesign of the dashboard. AC vents now accentuate the screen, steering away from the previous flanking design. The HVAC panel undergoes a complete transformation, featuring two rotary dials and a new digital MID. The interior adopts a fresh black-and-beige dual-tone theme, complemented by a gloss black garnish on the passenger side and subtle copper accents. The flat-bottom steering wheel and a 10.25-inch digital screen add a touch of modernity.

Technological Enhancements:

The upgraded XUV400 boasts advanced Adrenox software, aligning with the technology seen in the XUV700. The feature list expands to include dual-zone climate control with memory, wireless phone charging, wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Alexa integration, rear USB ports, and rear AC vents – addressing previous omissions. These additions bring the XUV400 in line with competitors like the new Nexon EV, even though the latter still holds an edge with features like ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate, 360-degree cameras, full-width LED light bands, and a larger infotainment screen on the top-spec variant.

No Mechanical Changes:

Despite the interior overhaul, the XUV400 retains its mechanical configuration. Both the EC Pro and EL Pro variants feature the 34.5kWh battery, with the EL Pro also offering the larger 39.4kWh battery. The EC Pro comes equipped with a 3.3kW AC charger, while the EL Pro features the faster 7.2kW AC charger for both battery options. The claimed range stands at 375km for the former and 456km for the latter, both on the MIDC cycle. Both variants feature a front axle-mounted electric motor generating 150hp and 310Nm of torque, maintaining disc brakes for all four wheels, regenerative braking, and three drive modes.

In summary, Mahindra's revamped XUV400 introduces a host of interior upgrades and features, enhancing its appeal in the electric SUV segment. The introductory prices make it a compelling option for those looking to embrace electric mobility."
