Lexus LX500d Showcased at Auto Expo
Lexus India has unveiled its new flagship SUV, the LX500d, at the Auto Expo. The SUV is powered by a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 diesel engine that produces 300 horsepower and 700 newton-meters of torque. It is mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels. The LX500d also gets adaptive suspension as standard with active height control.
The LX500d is based on the same platform as the Land Cruiser 300, but it has a more luxurious interior and exterior. The interior features two touchscreens, a digital instrument cluster, and a 25-speaker Mark Levinson 3D audio sound system. The exterior features a spindle grille, LED headlights and taillights, and 22-inch alloy wheels.
The LX500d is available in seven colors and is priced at ?2.82 crore (US$37,000). It rivals the likes of the Range Rover, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, and the BMW X7.
