Land Rover India has recently unveiled the 2024 Discovery Sport, presenting an upgraded seven-seater at an enticing starting price of Rs 67.9 lakh, ex-showroom, India. The latest offering maintains its exclusivity in a single high-spec Dynamic SE trim, featuring two engine options—a 249hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol unit and a 204hp, 2.0-litre diesel, both priced equally. Impressively, this revamped luxury SUV comes at a cost that is approximately Rs 5 lakh lower than its predecessor.
The 2024 Discovery Sport boasts a refreshed interior, highlighted by adding an expansive 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment touchscreen with the updated operating system and wireless Apple CarPlay. Notable enhancements include two USB-C chargers in each row, a 12V socket in the second and boot, and climate control for the third. The cabin retains its digital driver display, 360-degree cameras, steering-mounted paddle shifters, reclining and sliding rear seats with a 40:20:40 split-folding function, and a panoramic sunroof. Land Rover offers Duo Leather upholstery and a natural shadow oak trim finish.
Externally, the 2024 Discovery Sport receives a gloss black finish on the badge, grille, lower body sills, and lower bumpers. The front bumper showcases new claw-like detailing in gloss black, while a striking Varesine Blue exterior finish has been added to the model's colour palette—the vehicle rides on new 19-inch alloy wheels, contributing to its contemporary aesthetic.
Comparing prices with competitors in the luxury SUV segment, such as the BMW X3, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, and Mercedes-Benz GLC, the updated Discovery Sport stands out as a cost-effective option, undercutting its rivals with a competitive starting price and maintaining Land Rover's commitment to blending luxury with value.
