KTM has launched a low-seat variant of the 250 Adventure at a price of Rs. 2.47 lakh.
The price of the KTM 390 Adventure standard variant and the low-seat variant is also the same. This makes the bikes accessible for shorter riders at no extra cost. The seat height of the standard KTM 250 Adventure is 855 mm and the low-seat variant has a saddle height of 834 mm.
This means that the company has shaved off a good 21 mm, making the bike more comfortable for shorter riders. This also helps in building the confidence of the rider. The low-seat KTM Adventure packs the same feature list as the standard, it gets a halogen headlamp with LED DRLs, an LCD dash, a slipper clutch, a 12V socket, and a 14.5-litre fuel tank.
The low-seat KTM 250 Adventure is powered by the same 248.76 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder engine that comes mated to a six-speed gearbox churning 29 bhp of power at 9,000 rpm and 24 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. It gets a 320 mm disc brake up front and a 230 mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS for dropping the anchors. The suspension duties are done by a WP Apex upside-down front fork and a mono-shock at the rear.
The KTM 250 Adventure low-seat variant goes up against the likes of the Suzuki V-Strom SX, it has a seat height of 835 mm and is powered by a 249 cc, air/oil cooled SOHC, single-cylinder engine coupled to a six-speed gearbox that belts out 25 bhp and 22 Nm of peak torque.
