The Kia Selto's design and features will undergo significant mid-lifecycle changes in India.
The Seltos facelift will sport a revised front and back design, a modernised dashboard, and other accessories. It was just captured during testing while wearing its premium X-Line configuration. The existing 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines won't be changed, but the Seltos will bring back a turbo-petrol engine that uses the new 1.5-litre Verna engine.
The Kia Seltos facelift changes are centred on the front and rear, as seen from the camouflage on the newly spotted test mule. While keeping the 'Tiger Nose' style, the redesigned grille will be bigger and have a new mesh pattern. In the grille, the LED DRLs will be moved. Redesigned LED DRL signatures on the headlights are partially visible in the pictures.
Changes to the front bumper's design will be made to e central air intake and fog lamp enclosures. The Seltos will include redesigned tail lamps positioned vertically and joined by a light bar. The whole tailboard will be redesigned, and the rear bumper will have been updated with dual-tone paint, new reflector placement and a faux skid plate. 17-inch alloy wheels with a modern design will also be available.
The Seltos facelift will feature a major interior update, highlighted by a new twin, connected screen layout. Currently, the instrument cluster and infotainment screen are housed in separate compartments, with the instrument cluster set deeper. However, the update will introduce a seamlessly connected screen, similar to the Mahindra XUV700, resulting in a slight dashboard redesign.
The Seltos facelift's interior improvements include thinner central AC vents, relocated HVAC circuitry, and a revised centre console with a rotary drive selector for automatic models. In addition, it is predicted that the facelifted Seltos would get considerable equipment enhancements, such as a panoramic sunroof, enhanced infotainment software, and maybe advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) features.
The Seltos makeover will not change the 1.5-litre, 115hp petrol and diesel engines or the matching manual and automatic gearboxes. A new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Hyundai Verna will be made available in place of the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. This engine has a maximum torque of 253 Nm and 160 horsepower. The Seltos' available transmission options are unclear, although the Verna has both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox with the same engine.
The sources indicate that Kia intends to introduce the facelifted Seltos to the market sometime in July or August of this year. It is anticipated that the pricing of the Seltos will rise along with the launch of multiple upgrades, including design modifications and additional functions. The Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, and up-and-coming models like the Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross are just a few of the competitors the Seltos will face whenever it is released.
