In full view before car enthusiasts at Kia's yearly EV day held in 2025, Kia revealed the first generation of their vans. PV5 is known to be Kia's first van and the basic model of its upcoming introduced platform named PBV, so modular skateboard was designed to pave the way for other electric utility vehicles with all-purpose description for numerous target private and commercial segments.
The design of Kia PV5
The PV5 will be provided in different body styles such as passenger, cargo, crew cab, and wheelchair-accessible (WAV). Being more consumer-facing, the PV5 Passenger is quite clean and has a futuristic style. It has angular LED strips that are positioned high and also double as indicators. The outermost headlight clusters are lower, so the PV5's charging port finds itself centrally embedded into the fascia; and a front-facing camera is right above that while underneath it a large radar sensor is located.
Tailgates of the PV5 vary on the type of body it's mounted on
For the rest of the details, the lower parts of the Pasadena Passenger have been entirely fitted with plastic body cladding while the upper sides showcase chunky side mirrors and a large glass proportion.
Even the pillars, hood, and upper regions of the fenders are blacked out. The PV5 Passenger has one single lift-up boot lid at the back; the Cargo and Crew body styles get two side-hinged tailgate doors.

PV5 dash to host two screens
The 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 7-inch screen make up the PV5's dash. While the infotainment screen itself will be able to receive over-the-air updates, the screen is powered by Google's Android Automotive OS and also packs in-app stores for particular businesses to download and enjoy.
Equally, V2L (vehicle-to-load) capabilities have been adapted to connect the upcoming PV5 internally and create power for external devices.
Variations with the passenger side frontal capacity of PV5 are offered for two people. It is a three-seater layout even in the back for the crew cab; Wav, passenger, and cab body style. Kia hasn’t made details relevant to the storage capacity in the PV5.
PV5 - Battery and driving range of Kia
The PV5 is expected to feature three options of batteries including 43.3 kWh, 51...120 kWh and 71.2 kWh with all of them working together with a single front placement electric engine that produces 163 HP, and most powerful is expected to go up to 400 km on a full charge than the 71.2 kWh model. It will take one from 10 to 80 percent full in half an hour within each of the battery options.
Later on this year, Kia PV5 will be released and it will be facing the Germans’ ID Buzz abroad.
Now the question that most of us are curious about is, will Kia bring the PV5 to the Indian market?
