Kia Launches 2025 Seltos SUV in India Starting at ₹11.13 Lakh, Introduces Three New Variants

Kia’s refreshed Seltos SUV aims to dominate India’s competitive mid-size SUV market with tech upgrades and affordable sunroof options.

Kia India has officially launched the 2025 edition of its popular Seltos SUV, with prices starting at ₹11.13 lakh (ex-showroom). The refreshed model introduces three new variants, retains its trusted engine lineup, and adds tech-focused upgrades to appeal to India’s growing demand for feature-rich, budget-friendly SUVs.

Since its debut, the Seltos has sold over six lakh units globally, solidifying its reputation as a crowd favorite.

What’s New in the 2025 Kia Seltos?

The 2025 update focuses on enhancing accessibility to premium features. Three new variants—HTE (O), HTK (O), and HTK+ (O)—have been introduced, priced at ₹11.13 lakh, ₹12.99 lakh, and ₹14.39 lakh, respectively.

The base HTE (O) variant now comes with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard, a notable upgrade for entry-level buyers. Meanwhile, the HTK (O) variant becomes the most affordable option in India to include a panoramic sunroof, a feature typically reserved for premium trims.

Kia’s strategy is clear: democratize high-end features. “The Seltos have always prioritized innovation within reach. With these updates, we’re making advanced technology and luxury experiences accessible to a broader audience,” said a Kia India spokesperson.

Engine and Transmission: Familiar Yet Reliable

Under the hood, the 2025 Seltos retains its proven engine options:

  • 1.5-litre Petrol Engine: Ideal for city drives, offering a balance of efficiency and performance.

  • 1.5-litre Turbo-Petrol Engine: Designed for enthusiasts seeking a punchier drive.

  • 1.5-litre Diesel Engine: A fuel-efficient option for long-distance travelers.

Transmission choices remain diverse, catering to varied driving preferences:

  • Six-speed manual

  • iMT (clutchless manual)

  • CVT (automatic)

  • Six-speed torque converter (automatic)

  • Seven-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic)

This flexibility ensures the Seltos appeals to both manual loyalists and automatic seekers.

Why the 2025 Seltos Matters for Indian Buyers

  • Affordable Tech for All: The entry-level variant’s new eight-inch touchscreen addresses the rising demand for connected car experiences even in budget segments.

  • Sunroofs No Longer a Luxury: By offering a panoramic sunroof in the ₹12.99 lakh HTK (O) variant, Kia is redefining what mid-tier trims can deliver.

  • Trusted Performance: Retaining the engine lineup ensures reliability, a key factor for Indian buyers prioritizing long-term value.

Competitive Edge in a Crowded Market

The Seltos enter 2025 battling rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, and MG Astor. Its aggressive pricing for feature-loaded variants could sway buyers seeking premium perks without stretching their budgets. The inclusion of a sunroof in mid-tier trims, paired with Kia’s strong service network, positions the Seltos as a pragmatic yet aspirational choice.

In a nutshell, With the 2025 Seltos, Kia India is doubling down on its formula of blending innovation with affordability. The new variants cater to tech-savvy millennials and families alike, while the unchanged powertrain lineup reassures practicality-focused buyers. As the mid-size SUV segment heats up, Kia’s latest move could further cement its foothold in India’s automotive landscape.
