Maruti e-Vitara Waiting Period Revealed With 6 to 8 Week Delivery Timeline Across All Variants

Maruti Suzuki's maiden electric SUV has sparked considerable interest amongst buyers, with a uniform six-to-eight-week waiting period now confirmed across all variants. The entry-level Delta trim is commanding the lion's share of bookings, whilst premium colour choices face extended delays. The innovative Battery-as-a-Service scheme is proving popular with first-time electric vehicle buyers seeking lower upfront costs.

  • A uniform 6-8 week waiting period applies to Delta, Zeta, and Alpha variants regardless of specification.
  • Opulent Red and Bluish Black colour options face extended delivery times of up to nine weeks.

Maruti Suzuki's long-awaited entry into the electric vehicle segment has arrived, but prospective buyers will need to exercise patience. Dealership sources across India confirm a standard waiting period of six to eight weeks for the e-Vitara, with production constraints limiting supply until July 2026.

Launched on February 17, 2026, the electric SUV marks a significant milestone for India's largest carmaker.

Delta Trim Captures Early Adopters

The entry-level Delta variant is proving remarkably popular, outselling its more expensive siblings despite offering a smaller 49kWh battery pack. Producing 144 horsepower and delivering an ARAI-certified range of 440 kilometres, the Delta hits the sweet spot for price-conscious buyers at Rs 15.99 lakh.

The mid-spec Zeta and top-tier Alpha variants feature a larger 61kWh battery offering 543 kilometres of range and 174 horsepower, but carry significantly higher price tags reaching Rs 20.01 lakh.

Colour Choice Impacts Waiting Times

Buyers should note that paintwork selection could affect delivery schedules. The e-Vitara offers seven colour options, with four available in dual-tone configurations featuring a contrasting Bluish Black roof.

Opulent Red, in both single and dual-tone finishes, and Bluish Black are experiencing heightened demand, pushing waiting periods to eight or nine weeks.

Alternative shades, including Nexa Blue, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Land Breeze Green, and Splendid Silver, typically arrive within six to seven weeks.

Battery-as-a-Service Scheme Gains Momentum

Maruti's innovative Battery-as-a-Service (Baas) option is attracting considerable attention by dramatically reducing upfront costs. Under this scheme, prices start at just Rs 10.99 lakh, with buyers paying a per-kilometre subscription fee of Rs 3.99 or Rs 4.39 depending on battery capacity.

Dealership representatives report strong interest in this financing model, particularly amongst first-time electric vehicle buyers concerned about initial expenditure. The scheme includes an eight-year or 1.6 lakh kilometre battery warranty.

Competitive Landscape

The e Vitara enters a crowded marketplace, facing competition from the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, VinFast VF6, and MG Windsor EV. However, Maruti brings its formidable reputation for reliability and an extensive service network, advantages that could prove decisive for wavering buyers.
