Kia has issued a recall for the Carens MPV manufactured from September 2022 to February 2023 for a potential software update. This recall will also look for potential faults in the instrument cluster while booting up when one starts the engine.
The recall has been issued because a few units of the MPV went blank while booting up. Owners of the vehicles will be reached by dealerships to visit the service centre for an update and inspection of the above-mentioned issue. The company recalled about 44,174 MPVs in October 2022 regarding a potential issue with the airbag control unit software.
The Kia Carens houses a 1.5 litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that makes 157 bhp of power and 253 Nm of peak torque. It comes coupled with a six-speed iMT or a seven-speed DCT gearbox. There is a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine on offer as well that produces 113 bhp of power and 144 Nm of peak torque. The Kia Carens retails at a price of Rs 10.45 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant and Rs 18.95 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant. download the Park+ app!
