Hyundai Unveils Production Ready Mufasa Suv

Hyundai Unveils Production-Ready Mufasa SUV

Hyundai has unveiled the production-ready Mufasa SUV, marking a bold entry into the SUV market. The Mufasa promises a powerful and rugged design, coupled with advanced features and cutting-edge technology. This SUV is set to capture attention with its robust performance on and off the road. Hyundai's move to introduce the Mufasa highlights the brand's commitment to offering diverse and innovative options for SUV enthusiasts. Get ready to experience the roar of Hyundai's newest addition to the SUV lineup.

The Mufasa SUV, which will be unveiled to the general public at Auto Shanghai 2023, has received its first set of official photos from Hyundai. The Mufasa will only be offered in the Chinese market, where Hyundai and the Beijing Automotive Group have a joint venture.

A 156 horsepower, 2.0 NA petrol engine is anticipated to power the vehicle, replacing the ix35. Its singular, vertical headlights are made of a single piece, a distinguishing characteristic. Hyundai previewed the production vehicle last month with the Mufasa Adventure concept.

Hyundai's new Mufasa SUV will measure 4,475mm in length, 1,850mm in width, 1,665mm in height, and 2,680mm in wheelbase, according to a regulatory filing on the website of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The Mufasa's styling is based on Hyundai's Sensuous Sportiness design language and includes distinctive elements like vertically oriented, single-piece headlights that defy the current fashion for split headlamp arrangements. The grille dominates most of the front fascia, and the face is likewise dual-toned. Below it, the bumper is strongly sculpted.

Sharp character lines, wide wheel arches, and thick body cladding are all features of the SUV's profile, which is reminiscent of the Tucson and Verna in India and the Alcazar's alloy wheels. The rear profile is striking because of the full-width LED taillamps, which form an oval shape encased in a gloss black panel with the Hyundai logo in the centre. However, the intricate tailboard design contrasts with the complex bumper design, which includes panelling and a false diffuser.

A 2.0-litre, normally aspirated petrol engine with 156 horsepower is anticipated to power the Hyundai Mufasa SUV, which will only have front-wheel drive. The Alcazar and Tucson versions from India both use the same engine.

There are rumours that the Mufasa's powertrain could eventually have a 48V mild-hybrid arrangement. The SUV will be produced locally in China and initially only be offered there. No information has yet to be released on its introduction to other markets. On April 18, when the car makes its formal premiere at Auto Shanghai 2023, the automaker intends to provide additional details regarding the interior and engine.

Exter, a new sub-compact SUV from Hyundai, will be built on the Grand i10 Nios platform and will go on sale soon. By August this year, the Exter is anticipated to be released as a petrol-only variant. The car will be positioned as Tata Punch's direct rival. The Exter is being created as part of Hyundai's plan to increase the availability of SUVs in India. It is anticipated to have a striking look and a number of contemporary amenities. Hyundai is yet to provide more information regarding the vehicle's specifications and features.
