Hyundai Motor India is ramping up its future roadmap with a blend of new-age electric, hybrid, and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
From compact SUVs to full-sized luxury models, the brand is preparing to roll out an exciting mix of models for the Indian market.
Bayon: The Compact SUV for the Young Urban Crowd
Hyundai is considering the launch of Bayon, codenamed BC4i, by mid-2026 in India. This compact SUV, built on the i20 platform, is already on sale in Europe.
Once launched, it is expected to rival the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Hyundai plans local production of the Bayon to keep costs competitive for Indian buyers.
Palisade: A Premium Entry to the Full-Size SUV Segment
The Hyundai Palisade, a flagship hybrid SUV, is also being considered for India, with a tentative launch by 2028.
With an expected price range of ₹45–50 lakh, this luxury SUV will go head-to-head with segment leaders like the Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq.
Verna & Exter Facelifts on the Horizon
Hyundai is already testing the facelift version of the Verna, with its launch expected around April 2026. The Verna remains a strong player in exports, ranking as the second most exported car from India in April 2025. Domestically, it competes with the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Honda City, and Maruti Ciaz.
In parallel, the Hyundai Exter will also receive a refreshed version by mid-2026. The facelift is expected to bring updates to both its exterior and interior. Hyundai hopes to push Exter’s performance in the market, aiming for stronger competition with the Tata Punch.
New-Gen Creta and Venue Coming Soon
The next-gen Hyundai Creta, codenamed SX3, is in the pipeline for a February 2028 launch. The new model will feature multiple engine options: petrol, diesel, electric, and hybrid. It will also comply with India’s CAFE 3 emission norms. The Creta is a top-seller for Hyundai, accounting for nearly 40% of its total sales.
The Venue, another key model, will get a new-gen update by October 2025. With premium upgrades in design and features, Hyundai targets monthly sales of 10,000 to 11,000 units, compared to the 7,593 units sold in April.
Hyundai also has facelift versions of the i20 and Alcazar in development, with their market debuts slated between 2027 and 2028.
Electric Game Plan: More Than Just Creta EV
Though Hyundai currently offers the Creta Electric, its EV sales haven’t picked up the desired momentum. Now, the brand is developing an all-new electric hatchback, codenamed HE1i, aimed at the mass market. Expected to launch with a price tag between ₹10–15 lakh, this model will compete directly with the Tata Punch EV. It will also be Hyundai’s first EV based on a skateboard platform.
Looking ahead, Hyundai plans to roll out a mid-size electric SUV using a cost-effective 400V EV architecture post 2027–28. This platform will power future SUVs priced around ₹20–30 lakh, competing with Mahindra’s XUV.e range and MG’s upcoming EVs.
In conclusion, Hyundai is clearly not holding back. With a thoughtfully curated lineup of ICE, hybrid, and EVs, it aims to dominate every key segment in the Indian auto space. Whether you're waiting for a luxury SUV or an affordable EV, Hyundai has something cooking for you—just a matter of time.
