Hyundai Introduces a New Prime Taxi Line in India

With the introduction of the Prime Taxi range, a new lineup created solely for commercial use, Hyundai has increased its footprint in India's transportation market. The Prime range, which is targeted at fleet operators and individual taxi drivers, emphasises long-term dependability, low operating costs, and good fuel efficiency. These models are built to maximise profits while guaranteeing dependable everyday performance, with factory-fitted CNG choices, attractive pricing starting near ₹6 lakh, and vital safety and comfort features.

  • With affordable prices and impressive mileage, Hyundai has introduced a Prime Taxi line specifically for fleet operators and taxi drivers in India.

  • The Prime HB (hatchback) and Prime SD (sedan) models in the lineup offer factory-installed CNG, contemporary safety features, and low operating costs to increase revenue potential.

With the introduction of the Prime Taxi line, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has formally entered the commercial mobility market in India. These vehicles are the company's first cars specifically designed for fleet services and taxi drivers.

The Prime HB hatchback and Prime SD sedan are two models in the portfolio that are intended to provide dependability and affordable ownership for high-traffic commercial businesses. All Hyundai outlets around the country have already started accepting reservations for a token.

Cost and Reservation Information

To appeal to taxi drivers on a budget, the new Prime models have low prices. Ex-showroom prices for the Prime HB and Prime SD are approximately ₹5.99 lakh and ₹6.89 lakh, respectively.

These price points are intended to make the vehicles accessible to both large fleet owners and independent drivers. To make purchasing selections easier, flexible financing solutions with repayment terms of up to 72 months are also offered.

Engine, Travel, and Operating Expenses

Both Prime taxis are powered by Hyundai's tried-and-true 1.2-liter Kappa four-cylinder gasoline engine, which has a factory-installed CNG alternative. This engine was chosen for its dependability and affordability.

While the Prime HB returns 27.32 km/kg in CNG mode, the Prime SD achieves an ARAI-claimed efficiency of 28.40 km/kg.

According to Hyundai, these cars can have a total cost of ownership as low as 47 paise per kilometer, which makes them incredibly affordable for regular business use.

Features, Comfort, and Safety

Comfort and safety are not sacrificed in the Prime series, in contrast to many entry-level commercial vehicles. Six airbags, rear AC vents, rear parking sensors, steering-mounted controls, and an 80 km/h speed restriction are all included as standard equipment.

To improve usability and the passenger experience, optional accessories, including a tracking device with panic buttons, a rear camera, and a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, are also available.

Assistance and Guarantee

Hyundai has extended warranty options that cover the fourth and fifth years or up to 1,80,000 kilometers, whichever comes first, in order to accommodate heavy mileage usage. This is intended to guarantee consistent maintenance and uptime for commercial operators that depend on these vehicles for their income, together with a broad service network.
