The Alcazar Knight Edition has finally been released by Hyundai Motor India at the ex-showroom price of Rs 21.65 lakh. The new model is in the brand Knight Edition family, alongside the i20 and Creta Electric, which will help Hyundai further encourage sportier, more unique products in the range.
Exterior Enhancements
The Alcazar Knight Edition has a more violent appearance. It receives a matte black paint job - a colour that Indian car buyers are very interested in - and several dark-themed cosmetic modifications. These consist of black alloys, red brake callipers, matte black Hyundai logos, black and rear skid plates, roof rails, and sill garnish. As an additional distinction, Hyundai has included a Knight emblem on the exterior.
Functional and Interior Updates
The Knight Edition carries the dark theme inside with all black interior furnishings and brass inserts on the door trims and dashboard. The chairs are upholstered in black, with brass highlights and stitching, and are complemented by the sporty metal pedals.
On top of the aesthetic, Hyundai has also incorporated a dashcam as a practical feature. This utilitarian feature makes the SUV more appealing to safety-conscious consumers who prioritise technology-driven convenience.
Powertrain Options
The Alcazar Knight Edition is available only in the top-spec Signature trim with two engine choices:
1.5-litre turbo petrol (TGDi) paired with a 7-speed DCT
1.5-litre diesel (CRDi) mated to a 6-speed automatic (AT)
These powertrains remain unchanged from the standard Alcazar, ensuring a balance of performance and efficiency.
Positioning in the Market
Having its own unique style, high-quality details, and practical improvements, the Alcazar Knight Edition provides a new image to customers interested in a sporty character. Being at the upper end of the Alcazar range, it reinforces the strategy at Hyundai of producing special editions, which fuse style and substance.
