2026 Kia Stonic Unveiled with Turbo Petrol Hybrid Engine

Kia has revealed the refreshed 2026 Stonic ahead of its global showcase at the Munich Motor Show. With sharper styling, premium interiors, new colour options, and a 1.0L turbo petrol hybrid engine, the updated crossover strengthens its position against rivals like the Ford Puma and Nissan Juke in European markets.

The 2026 Kia Stonic is the second large facelift since the SUV was introduced to the market in 2017. Under the new Kia design philosophy of ‘Opposites United’, the new Stonic sports has sharper LED headlamps, new DRLs, and a tail lamp design. It is made to look tougher with a grille and an overlaid bumper.

Kia has also come up with new 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels and two new paint selections, Adventure Green and Yacht Blue. Other common design features, such as roof rails, black ORVMs with turn indicators, and a tapering roofline, have been maintained. Raked windshield and sporty LED tail lamps at the back add a more energetic feel to the compact crossover.

The SUV has no dimensional change, being 4,140 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width, 1,520 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,580 mm.

Improved Interior and features

The Stonic 2026 has major upgrades inside. The infotainment system and instrument cluster have now been supported by two 12.3-inch displays in the cabin. The premium appearance is enhanced by the redefined centre console, new door trims and a 3-spoke steering wheel.

The appealing features include touch-sensitive AC features, ports with USB-C, ambient lighting, and a wireless charging pad. The Kia Connect app has improved connectivity and supports features such as a digital key, remote diagnostics, and real-time updates on the car.

Engine and Hybrid Tech

As the design and features receive a large upgrade, the powertrain lineup remains the same. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol 3-cylinder engine has 100 hp and 172 Nm of torque, and there is a 48V mild-hybrid variant with 120 hp. There is a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT).

Positioned Against Rivals

The 2026 Kia Stonic has a redesigned exterior and a more sophisticated interior, which will help it compete with compact crossovers such as the Ford Puma and Nissan Juke in the international market. Combining the efficiency of a hybrid with the features of a premium car and remaining bold, it is a strong competitor in the segment.
