The Honda Elevate is set to make its global debut in India on June 6 and is entering our market's hotly contested compact SUV segment.
It will be taking on some popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Slavia, and MG Astor, among others. The new Honda Elevate is a bit late to join the party but is expected to come with a bucketload of bells and whistles, making a strong case for itself. Here’s what you can expect from this upcoming compact SUV.
Design
The new Honda Elevate will measure around 4.2 metres – 4.3 metres in length and is expected to borrow design cues from the HR-V and CR-V sold in the global markets. Going by the teaser images, the Elevate will likely boast a bold front end and angular creases along the profile. Other modern elements like LED headlights with daytime running lights (DRLs) and taillights are expected as well.
Cabin
We don’t have any final word on the cabin layout or the colour of upholstery that will be used inside the cabin. But we expect the Honda Elevate to be equipped with all the segment standard tech and creature comforts like a 10.2-inch digital touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster with multi-information display (MID), auto climate control, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, connected car tech, Alexa voice command integration, cruise control, drive modes, smartwatch car key and ventilated seats among others.
Safety
Features like six airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), and hill assist are expected to be standard on the Elevate. Moreover, upper variants are also expected to source the Level 2 Advance Driver Assistance System (ADAS) tech from the Honda City sedan offering features like forward collision warning and mitigation, blind spot warning, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and fatigue alert, among others.
Engine
The Honda Elevate will share its underpinnings with the fifth-gen Honda City and is expected to be offered with the 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 1.5-litre strong hybrid powertrain as well. Transmission options will likely include a six-speed manual gearbox and the CVT automatic transmission.
Price
The Honda Elevate is making its global debut tomorrow, while the price announcement is expected to happen later. Ex-showroom prices are expected to begin around the Rs. 12 lakh mark, going up to the Rs. 20 lakh mark.
