Honda cars maintain a steady stride in the market, clocking sales of 4660 units for May 2023. This robust performance highlights the continued demand for Honda vehicles in the Indian automotive landscape. Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has revealed its sale for the month of May, which stood at 4,660 units,

The company recorded a domestic sale of 8,188 units and exports of 1,997 units for the same period in 2022. This translates to a dip of 43 per cent on a year-to-year basis. The company sold 5,313 units in April 2023, and the exports stood at 2,363 units for the same period.

Sharing thoughts on the sales performance, Yuichi Murata, Director of Marketing and Sales Honda Cars India Ltd, said, “Our sales for the month of May’23 was in line with our plan. The Amaze and City continued to perform well and get strong customer preference. Along with this, we are gearing up for the world premiere of our upcoming new SUV model Honda Elevate. The new Honda SUV is garnering a lot of attention in the market from the customers across our network and platforms. We are confident that it will be well received by the consumers.”

The company is all set to launch the new Elevate on June 6, which will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, to name a few. The car will share its underpinnings with the fifth-gen Honda City and will be offered a 1.5-litre engine at the time of the launch and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid powertrain as well. The City’s engine makes 121 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. Transmission options could be a six-speed manual and a CVT, just like the Honda City.
