A new set of spy shots have surfaced that seems to be the upcoming 125 cc offering from the Hero stables and will directly lock horns with the TVS Raider. Hero recently launched the Xtreme 160R 4V, and the Harley Davidson X440 launch is just around the corner. The company is also working on the Karizma and we can expect a launch around the festive season. The spy shots reveal the 125 cc bike to have a sporty design.
Wrapped in camouflage, the bike gets tank shrouds, an aggressive face with a sleek headlamp unit, a sculpted tank, a split-seat setup, grab rails, and all LED lighting. The pictures reveal a drum brake at the rear and a tyre-hugging mudguard with sleek LED indicators. We can expect a disc brake up front, and smartphone tethering as well. The suspension duties are done by a conventional telescopic unit up front and a mono-shock at the rear.
The 125 cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine will be coupled to a five-speed gearbox that could be making about 10 bhp of power and 10 Nm of peak torque. We can expect the company to use the Xtreme name for this new 125 cc offering. The new commuter bike from Hero could be priced somewhere between Rs. 86,000 and Rs. 92,000 (ex-showroom). This segment has bikes like the Honda Shine 125 and Bajaj Pulsar 125 to name a few.
