GLIDA Advances Electric Mobility in India with High-Power Chargers at DLF Cyberpark Gurugram

Gurugram, July 02, 2024: GLIDA, a trailblazer in India's public EV charging sector, has achieved a significant milestone by installing 200KW high-power public chargers at DLF Cyberpark in Gurugram. Formerly known as Fortum Charge & Drive India, GLIDA has partnered with Kempower, a renowned Finnish manufacturer of DC fast chargers, to introduce cutting-edge and user-friendly charging technology to India's electric mobility infrastructure.

The new installation features a 200KW superfast Kempower charger with six satellite charging points, bolstering GLIDA's presence in DLF’s Cyber City, which now operates 20 charging points. This development underscores GLIDA's commitment to its brand philosophy #AllLightsGreen for e-mobility, aiming to create a robust and convenient charging network for EV users nationwide.

Awadhesh K. Jha, Executive Director of GLIDA, expressed his enthusiasm about the achievement, stating, “At GLIDA, we strive to lead in innovation and technology, continually pushing the boundaries for the electric mobility industry in India. The installation of the new 200KW Kempower charger marks the beginning of a new era in how India moves. We plan to commission more superfast charging sites in the future. This latest technology will provide a seamless experience for EV users, encouraging the wider adoption of electric vehicles. By investing in the future today, we aim to set a new benchmark for public EV charging infrastructure, aligning India's electric mobility segment with global standards.”

The Kempower chargers deliver a dynamic and efficient charging experience, enabling faster EV charging and top-ups, ensuring a hassle-free driving experience for users. These high-power chargers will also accelerate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles, including buses and trucks, by significantly reducing charge times.

Since its inception in 2017, GLIDA has been at the forefront of innovation in the Indian EV landscape. The company was the first to demonstrate remote charging technology and install India's first 50kW Fast CCS charger, among other pioneering achievements. GLIDA’s dedication to innovation and collaboration with global leaders like Kempower is setting new standards for public EV charging infrastructure in India. By providing faster and more convenient charging solutions, GLIDA is paving the way for a new era of electric mobility in the country.
