Suzuki Motorcycle India sales closed at 88,287 units in June’24, registering 9% Y-o-Y growth

Suzuki Motorcycle has recently disclosed its sales figures which have not only shown a major growth of 9% but a sales of 88,287 units in June itself. The sales figure clearly shows the company has been performing well in the Indian market and indicates an increase or a positive result for the financial year. Sales Overview for June 2024

Suzuki Motorcycle India closed June 2024 with total sales of 88,287 units, up from 80,737 units in June 2023. This marks a 9% year-over-year growth, showcasing the company's resilience and strong market presence. In the domestic market, the growth was even more pronounced. SMIPL sold 71,086 units domestically in June 2024, a 13% increase compared to 63,059 units in the same month last year. However, the export segment saw a slight decline, with 17,201 units shipped in June 2024, down from 17,678 units in June 2023.

Commentary from SMIPL's Leadership

Mr. Devashish Handa, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and After Sales at SMIPL, expressed satisfaction with the company's performance. He attributed the growth to strong demand in the Indian market and noted the positive start to the financial year with a 15% year-on-year growth in the first quarter. Mr. Handa extended gratitude to customers and the dealer network for their trust and support, emphasizing their crucial role in the company's success.

Quarterly Sales Performance

For the April to June quarter of 2024, SMIPL reported domestic sales of 251,185 units, compared to 197,358 units in the same period last year. This represents a notable increase, reflecting the company's ability to meet the growing demand in the Indian market. However, the export figures for the quarter showed a decrease, with 47,991 units shipped compared to 63,426 units in the previous year.

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited, a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, began its operations in India in February 2006. The company's manufacturing plant is located in Kherki Daula, Gurugram, Haryana, with an annual production capacity of 1 million units. SMIPL manufactures a range of two-wheelers, including 125cc scooters, premium motorcycles (150cc and above), and Big-Bikes, catering to the diverse needs of Indian customers.
