In a move to enhance customization options for its iconic Mustang lineup, American automaker Ford has unveiled the Matte Clear Film, offering both a unique aesthetic and practical paint protection solution for all coupe models.
The Matte Clear Film boasts a satin-like finish, providing Mustang enthusiasts with an opportunity to add a distinctive touch to their vehicles while safeguarding the paint from common elements encountered during daily driving. Developed by renowned manufacturer PPG, this innovative film is engineered to withstand various environmental factors, including detergents in car washes, road salt, bird droppings, bug splatter, and asphalt residue.

Available for all Mustang coupe models, including the EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse variants, the Matte Clear Film is set to commence deliveries starting in June 2024. Convertible models can expect availability in the fourth quarter of the same year.
Orders for the Matte Clear Film open on February 27th, 2024, with pricing starting at $5,995. Notably, Ford ensures peace of mind for customers by providing the same 3-year/36,000-mile factory warranty applicable to all 2024 Mustang models.
However, certain exclusions apply. Customers opting for the Dark Horse variant with the Matte Clear Film will not receive the standard Hood Accent Stripe or have the option to select the Painted Racing Stripe. Additionally, the Matte Clear Film is not compatible with the GT California Special package and optional graphics packages on the Mustang EcoBoost and GT.
For those seeking a more understated appearance on the track, Ford offers the Graphic Delete option as a standalone feature for the Mustang Dark Horse, catering to individuals who prefer a subtle presence on the road.
