Citroen India has announced a price hike of Rs. 17,500 for the C3 from July 1, 2023. The brand has five cars on sale in the country and the C3 is offered in three variants: Live, Feel and Shine.
This is the third time the brand has hiked the prices of the C3 this year, the company had hiked the price once in January and then in April this year. The hike will be applicable to a specific variant and that list is yet to be disclosed.
We can expect further information by the last week of June or the first week of July. The company has also added a turbo trim for the Shine and Feel variant, adding a bit more to the feature list.
The top Shine trim gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, multi-functional steering wheel, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear wiper with defogger and roof antenna, to name a few. The safety kit includes driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, fog lamps, engine immobiliser, high-speed alert system, day and night IRVMs, and speed-sensitive door locking system.
The Citroen C3 is offered with two engine options: a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission that belts out 81 bhp at 5,750 rpm and 115 Nm of peak torque at 3,750 rpm. And there is a 1.2-litre turbocharged unit that comes coupled to a six-speed manual transmission that produces 108 bhp of power at 5,500 rpm and 190 Nm of peak torque at 1,750 rpm. The Citroen C3 does not get a diesel powertrain or an automatic transmission on offer. The company claims a fuel efficiency of 19.3 kmpl for both engine options, and it has a fuel tank of 30 litres.
The base variant Live is priced at Rs. 6.16 lakh and goes up to Rs. 8.92 lakh for the Shine trim. The hike will make the C3 slightly dearer than its outgoing model. It goes up against the likes of the Tata Punch, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite, to name a few.
