BMW has taken the wraps off the X1 M35i xDrive which is the most powerful X1 in the BMW lineup.
The M35i xDrive gets M treatment on the exterior and interiors along with a hike in the power figures as well. At the heart is a 2.0-litre, in-line, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that produces 311 bhp of power and 400 Nm of peak torque.
The M35i xDrive also gets an all-wheel drive system and a limited-slip differential. The company claims a 0-100 kmph sprint in 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 250 kmph. The car gets adaptive dampers as standard. And customers can opt for M compound brakes, as they are optional.
Exterior tweaks include strong lines and creases on the bonnet, a large kidney grille with gloss black finish, an LED ring headlamp unit with LED DRLs, red brake callipers, a black diffuser, quad exhaust pipes with a circular finish and 19-inch wheels with 20-inch as an option.
The interiors boast the new OS 9 operating system and the latest iDrive with fast choice. The cabin sports Alcantara, leather and aluminium for its upholstery and other surfaces. The integrated instrument cluster and infotainment unit takes centre stage on the dashboard and is angled to the driver. The air-con vents have a sleek design and there are red accents on the seats, steering wheel, centre console and door panels to give it the “M” look.
The BMW X1 in India starts at a price of Rs. 45.90 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs. 50.90 lakh for the top M Sport variant. There is no official communication of the new X1 M35i xDrive coming to our shores.
