First Real M Car Without An IC Engine Might Launch Sometime In 2027
For some time, BMW has been diligently developing an all-electric performance car equipped with quad motors. The prototype of this electric M car has been spotted during testing on several occasions, with BMW even sharing official images of its ongoing progress.
There are also indications that BMW is contemplating the introduction of an electric M car featuring a dual-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration. This suggests an exciting shift toward innovative electric vehicle designs from the renowned automotive manufacturer.
BMW M Performance Cars
Within BMW's lineup, the M performance series boasts notable entries such as the i4 M50, i5 M60, iX M60, and the i7 M70. Despite this impressive array, the anticipation for a fully-fledged M electric car remains, with projections suggesting a wait of a couple of years.
The forthcoming electric M cars will be grounded on BMW's innovative Neue Klasse platform, set to make its debut in 2025. While the initial offerings under this platform will manifest as a sedan and an SUV, both positioned within the 3 Series segment, the debut of the inaugural M car without an internal combustion engine is earmarked for 2027. This marks a pivotal moment as BMW pivots toward an electrified future, introducing cutting-edge technology and performance in their signature M series.
