July has been a busy month with big releases by Tesla, Kia, MD, and Renault, and once again, the Indian car market is getting ready to turn on the pedal. August 2025 will be the month of SUVs since both new and old brands have several new models launched and concept reveals scheduled in it.
Facelifted Volvo XC60 makes a debut in August
Volvo will begin the month with the launch of the XC60 facelift on August 1. World famous as the most successful model of the brand, the new one is going to have slight but significant improvements in terms of design, with a brand-new grille and new alloy wheels.
The cabin tech will be higher with a new 11.2-inch touchscreen that runs on a Qualcomm chipset. The powertrain is also expected to be the same basis as it will carry a 250hp 2.0L turbo-petrol engine with the help of an 8-speed automatic transmission with AWD.
Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe: Luxury and Power in a Coupe design.
On August 12, the brand will present the CLE 53 AMG Coupe, around which there is talk of a gorgeous roofless version that will be the AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet, above the CLE 300 Cabriolet. It has the Panamericana grille, quad exhausts, the sports interior, etc.
It is powered by a 3.0L inline 6 that has a twin turbo and it is coupled with a 9-speed DCT and a 4Matic AWD system that yields 449hp. It has 0-100kmph in 4.2 seconds and it is limited to a top speed of 250kmph (270 with the AMG package).
VinFast’s Indian Debut: VF6 and VF7 EV SUVs
Vietnamese electric car maker VinFast is entering the Indian market by the end of August and will launch the VF7 and VF6 SUVs in the country.
Although packing electric AWD and 450km of range, VF7 is a more regular-sized sedan that leaves space to compact VF6 which aims at efficiency, as the battery has a 480km range and 59.6kWh. Both also share such features as ADAS, 7 airbags, reclining rear seats, and panoramic glass roof. Pre-bookings has already been started for both.
Mahindra to launch New SUV and Vision Concepts
India will have its own Mahindra too as it unveils a brand new compact SUV on August 15 and will likely be based on a brand new monocoque platform. The SUV will have 1.2L and 1.5L diesel engines and a hybrid model will be added in the future.
Under its banner of four concept SUVs called SXT, X, T and S, called Visions, Mahindra will also be displaying its electric and rugged SUV line.
The best part about August is that it brings out the SUV lover inside all of them with provisions across all the categories of SUVs simply put there is something to everyone.
