What makes Audi enthusiastic about pop-up stores?
The upward trend in the luxury segment is very much alive in Uttar Pradesh; hence it is a very strong location for expansion of Audi, according to Balbir Singh Dhillon, head of Audi India. He feels that pop-up showrooms will provide an important touch point for aspirational customers in the countries' top cities with a more intimate personal touch.
Pop-up stores in metro cities but have a tie-up with the customers of an entire region; unlike Mercedes-Benz, which had more openings of pop-up stores in the year 2016 in major metros, Audi is seeking to pull Tier 2 to its fold. This also shows the shift in luxury vehicle demand, with smaller towns showing promise in premium car sales as well.

With Kanpur's pop-up store now up and running, this initiative will most likely be taken to other Tier 2 cities in the next few months.
