Smaller SUVs Likely To Get Cheaper
Taxes play a key role in new car prices during purchase, based on multiple factors, including the engine, body style, length, price, and more.
According to the recent GST Council release, any vehicle with a smaller than 1,500cc engine that is less than 4 meters in length or has lower 170 mm ground clearance, irrespective of its body type, will be charged a lower tax rate.
Hence, per the clarification, SUVs must meet the criteria to qualify for the highest tax slab. Considering the criteria, SUVs like Seltos, Creta, Taigun, Kushaw, Grand Vitara, Hyryder, and Urban Cruiser do not meet the requirements.
While all these models have more than a four-meter mark, their engine capacity is still lower than 1500cc, meaning they would not come under the highest taxable bracket.
Tesla Cybertruck Mass Production To Begin At The End Of 2023
Tesla aims to start its mass production of Cybertruck in late 2023, two years after the company initially planned; Elon Musk unveiled it in 2019.
Elon Musk stated, “We’re in the final lap for Cybertruck.” Tesla would not be recording revenue until early 2024 for a quarter of production on the new model expected as the key to its growth.
However, EV production is around the corner, but it does not mean that Tesla will not make any money off the model. Hundreds of thousands have reserved the pickup, and it is assumed that they will move ahead with their purchase. Nevertheless, they may have to wait longer for the delivery.
The exact price of the model has yet to be revealed, but Musk mentioned that the pickup would start below $39,000, with the top variant going for $69,000.
