Subscribers of the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 will be in for a treat as manufacturers of affordably priced, well-equipped cars are expected to flock to the event. Looking at upcoming SUV and hatchback sales, major manufacturers are preparing to offer new and updated models with a price range below ₹9 lakh. This is how it looked, and this is what you will get at this year’s event.
Tata Tigor and Tiago Facelifts: A Fresh Take on Familiar Favorites
Tata Motors is gearing up to give a facelift to two of its most popular automobiles, Tigor and Tiago. These car models have been a brand name in Indian markets but have lost their charm with the emergence of new rivals.
The facelift versions are rumoured to feature:
New body kits with new and improved front bumper and rear bumpers.
Improved interfaces thus incorporated simplified dashboard displays and a new look.
Features such as ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, and a larger infotainment screen that is on a par with what is currently on the market.
These changes should make the Tigor and Tiago even more appealing to those shopping in the economy segment.
Maruti Hustler: A New Contender in the Subcompact SUV Market
The subcompact Hustler, which Maruti Suzuki is developing as of now, has been caught testing around. From the conformation we have seen, the Hustler might have the same 1.2 Liter engine as the Swift and Dzire, perhaps a good combination of a powerful and efficient engine.
Expected features include:
Powered seats and a 360-degree camera system to meet people’s current expectations.
A small car with a well-packaged interior to take the fight directly to Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter and Citroen C3.
Official word on this is still awaited but the Hustler could be launched at the expo and this would see Maruti entering the new subcompact SUV space.

MG Yep: An Affordable Electric Revolution
MG Motor India may unveil the MG Yep which might be a rebadged version of the global model Baojun Yep. This is an exciting new launch because it may offer consumers an affordable solution to travel short distances with an electric compact car.
Key highlights of the MG Yep:
The electric motor draws its power from a 28.1 kWh battery pack that is expected to deliver up to 400 km of range.
The vehicle is developed on the GEV platform of MG and shares the same architecture as the company’s MG Comet EV.
Intended to compete directly with more traditional cars such as Tata’s Tiago electric and the Punch electric car with an emphasis on cost and usability.

Subcompact SUVs: The Segment to Watch
Subcompact SUV category continues to be a preferred one in the country and this segment offers it all at a reasonable price. Hustler, Yep and the recent face-lifted Tiago are some of the models that are positioned in this segment and manufacturers are seeking to take a bigger piece of the market.
Since economy cars are still dominant in the market, there is much potential for these new launches in the coming Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. There will be something for everyone – from facelifted favourites to new-generation electric vehicles.
