What you should know about Mahindra's XUV700 returning as the XUV7XO

On January 5, 2026, Mahindra plans to introduce the redesigned XUV700 as the new XUV 7XO. With a sharper front grille, contemporary LED lighting, and a remodeled inside with cutting-edge technology and seating options, the revised SUV boasts a new look. The XUV 7XO promises improved comfort, high-end equipment, and a modern appearance while keeping the same dependable gasoline and diesel engines, making it a formidable competitor in the mid-sized SUV market.

  • Officially called the Mahindra XUV 7XO, the facelifted Mahindra XUV700 will make its premiere on January 5, 2026.

  • While keeping the essential technical components of the original SUV, early teaser photographs indicate significant outward and interior upgrades.

The updated XUV700 will be known as the XUV 7XO when it is introduced worldwide on January 5, 2026, according to the company. Following the previous renaming of the XUV300 to XUV 3XO, the change is a component of the brand's updated internal-combustion SUV naming strategy. Following the XUV700 in its lineup, the XUV 7XO remains Mahindra's premium ICE SUV.

Modern upgrades to the interiors and features

The XUV 7XO's interior is anticipated to have a triple-screen dashboard design, much like the company's most recent models. There will probably be both 6 and 7 seating choices.

The upgrades suggest a more luxurious cabin experience than the departing XUV700; however, official confirmation on all elements is still pending.

Under the hood, comfortable but competent

The facelifted SUV will continue to use the reliable XUV700 engine options mechanically. This comprises a 2.2-liter diesel engine and a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, both of which come with six-speed manual or automatic gearboxes.

As before, all-wheel drive (AWD) may also be available for the diesel version.

Pricing, competition, and what to anticipate

Although the XUV 7XO's official pricing has not yet been revealed, it is probably going to be a little more expensive than the XUV700 due to the new features. The Tata Sierra, MG Hector, Hyundai Alcazar, and other competitors in the market will continue to go off against the SUV.
