Volkswagen Introduces Taigun And Virtus Highline Plus Variants In India

Volkswagen Introduces Taigun and Virtus Highline Plus Variants in India

Volkswagen has expanded its portfolio in India with the launch of the Taigun and Virtus Highline Plus variants. These new variants come alongside the recently unveiled GT-Line options, offering enhanced features and technology upgrades over the standard Highline variants. With competitive pricing and a focus on delivering value, these models are set to attract a wider audience.

Taigun Highline Plus: Key Features and Pricing

The Taigun Highline Plus variant is available in both manual (MT) and automatic (AT) transmission options. The pricing for these variants starts at Rs. 14.27 lakh for the MT and Rs. 15.37 lakh for the AT. This represents a price increase of Rs. 54,000 and Rs. 89,000, respectively, over the equivalent Highline variants.

Key features included in the Taigun Highline Plus variant are:

  • 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system: Enhances connectivity and entertainment options.

  • Auto-dimming interior rearview mirror (IRVM): Provides safer driving at night by reducing glare from vehicles behind.

  • Keyless entry and button start: Adds convenience for everyday use.

  • Panoramic sunroof: Offers an airy cabin feel.

  • Auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers: Improves safety and driving comfort in varying weather conditions.

  • Follow-me-home function for headlamps: Provides additional visibility when exiting the vehicle.

Virtus Highline Plus: Key Features and Pricing

Similarly, the Virtus Highline Plus variant is offered with both manual and automatic transmission options. The prices for the Virtus Highline Plus start at Rs. 13.88 lakh for the MT variant and Rs. 14.98 lakh for the AT variant, reflecting increases of Rs. 86,000 and Rs. 81,000 respectively, over the standard Highline variants.

The Virtus Highline Plus shares many of the feature upgrades found in the Taigun, making it a compelling option for sedan buyers who value technology and convenience.

Engine Specifications

Both the Taigun and Virtus Highline Plus variants are powered by Volkswagen’s efficient 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, which produces 114bhp and 178Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission, providing a balanced combination of performance and fuel efficiency.

Future Prospects and Facelifts

Volkswagen is committed to enhancing its offerings, with plans to introduce facelifts for both the Taigun and Virtus by 2026. These updates are expected to provide even greater value and appeal, keeping in line with customer expectations and industry trends. The extensive trim options available for both models reflect Volkswagen’s strategy to cater to a diverse customer base, ensuring that both the SUV and sedan meet the varying demands of Indian consumers.

With the launch of the Taigun and Virtus Highline Plus variants, Volkswagen reinforces its position in the Indian automotive market. These models not only offer updated features and competitive pricing but also maintain the brand’s reputation for quality and performance. As consumers increasingly lean towards technologically advanced and value-driven vehicles, the Taigun and Virtus are well-positioned to meet these demands.
