The Vietnamese electric vehicle firm VinFast is fully prepared to launch its activities in India by setting up both the VF6 and VF7 electric sport utility vehicles in the fall of 2025.
As an initial move in the Indian business, the firm has opened its first dealership center in Piplod, Surat (Gujarat), in which the two new models have been displayed. The Indian assembly will be done to make it affordably priced through the use of the CKD (completely knocked down) route, where EVs will be imported to India.
VinFast has great ambitions in India and plans to create its dealership network in 27 cities before the end of 2025. Reservations are already being taken in the country for both the models.
VinFast VF6: Small but with a lot of features
The powertrain of the India-spec VF6 is currently unknown but the international version comes in both Eco and Plus trim, both of which are powered by a 59.6kWh battery. The Eco version has been said to go up to 410km on a full charge and the Plus has a 379km range.
Cabin layout of the VF6 follows a clean lines theme in black color with accents in silver and soft-touch materials. A 12.9-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, head-up display (HUD), 360-degree camera and Level-2 ADAS are premium features.
Six vividly coloured options are available to the customers, such as Urban Mint, Jet Black, Desat Silver, Infinity Blac, Zenith Grey and Crimson Red.
VinFast VF7: Flagship EV with Impressive Range
The more luxurious and bigger VF7 will be the flagship brand of the company in India. One should expect it to arrive in Eco FWD and Plus AWD models, both with a 70.8kWh battery. The claims of these are 450km and 431km respectively on single charge.
In terms of design, the VF7 is unique due to the split, LED DRL, refined headlamps, sloping roofline and 20-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, there is a more driver-centered minimalistic design, with a 12.9-inch infotainment, HUD, a glass roof, ventilated front seats, and Level 2 ADAS, which brings a more upmarket feel.
Featuring an aggressive design, fast-travel units, and high technology, the VF6 and VF7 have set up VinFast as an attractive front-runner in the Indian EV sector.
