Toyota Kirloskar Motors reported total sales of 29,280 units in May 2025, reflecting a 22.21% increase over 23,959 units sold in May 2024. Sales increased 17.91% month over month from 24,833 units in April 2025. In May 2025, Toyota ranked sixth in terms of volume sales among automakers, after Tata, Hyundai, Mahindra, and Maruti.
Year-on-Year Model Breakup
HyRyder remained the top seller with 7,573 units in May 2025, up 93.88% from 3,906 units in May 2024, capturing a 25.86% share of Toyota’s lineup.
With 5,243 units, Hycross came in second place with 17.91% of total sales, up 18.86% from 4,411 units the year before. A new Hycross Exclusive Edition debuted last month with extra features and colours.
In May 2025, there were 4,753 cases of Glanza, which was a 5.22% YoY decrease from 4,517 cases in May 2024.
Innova Crysta sold 3,639 units, a 12.04% decrease from May 2024's 4,137 units.
Taisor increased 39.22% from 2,180 units in May of last year to 3,035 units..
Fortuner posted 2,571 units, up 6.15% from 2,422 units in May 2024.
Rumion dipped marginally to 1,917 units, a 0.10% decrease year-on-year.
Hilux reached 322 units, a 13.78% rise from 283 units a year ago.
Camry increased from 122 units in May 2024 to 198 units, a 62.30% increase.
Vellfire luxury MPV dropped from 62 units in May 2024 to 29 units, a 53.23% decrease.
Month-on-Month Trends
The MoM performance of the Toyota reflect the following ups and downs:
HyRyder jumped to 7,573 units in May from 4,642 in April 2025, a 63.14% rise.
Hycross grew 16.67% MoM to 5,243 units from 4,494 units in April.
Glanza climbed 15.03% from 4,132 units in April to 4,753 units in May.
Innova Crysta rose 13.54% MoM from 3,205 units in April to 3,639 units in May.
Taisor increased 25.36% from 2,421 units in April to 3,035 units in May.
Fortuner declined 11.47% MoM to 2,571 units from 2,904 units in April
Rumion fell 22.14% from 2,462 units in April to 1,917 units in May.
Hilux decreased 6.67% from 345 units in April to 322 units in May.
Camry dipped 4.81% from 208 units in April to 198 units in May.
Vellfire rose 45% MoM from 20 units in April to 29 units in May.
Overall, Toyota’s May 2025 results highlight robust overall growth, led by HyRyder’s record monthly performance. While several models grew both year-on-year and month-on-month, a few saw declines. These figures reflect shifting buyer preferences and Toyota’s strengthening SUV and MPV focus in India.
