This Giant Kia gets a Panoramic Sunroof And ADAS

The massive South Korean automaker Kia is developing the Kia Clavis, a new subcompact SUV, in India. Most recently, a second SUV test mule was observed in Hyderabad. This fresh mule has made it clear that a panoramic sunroof will be included. It will also include ADAS to improve safety. It will probably be released in India by the middle of 2025. It is positioned between the Sonet and Seltos, which is anticipated to serve a lifestyle-focused market niche without offering all-wheel drive.

Design and Features

Exterior: We can see that the Clavis will have a panoramic sunroof, and roof rails, along with vertical LED daytime running lights (DRLs) on the front. Alongside these LED DRLs on either side are two vertically stacked projector LED headlights. Like the car's entire body, the front will feature a fairly boxy look overall. Next, we see the primary feature of this SUV's external design in the side profile. And that's the special B-pillar of it. It is noticeable because it resembles a station wagon in appearance.

It will have black roof rails and a distinctive set of 17-inch alloy wheels. In addition, the back will have LED taillights that are positioned extremely low while maintaining the boxy style.

Interior: the Clavis's interior will have a very upscale appearance. There aren't any images of this SUV's dashboard up to this point. Past test mules, however, have revealed that the interior would have a luxurious dual-tone leatherette design.

Features: In terms of technology, it might include two 10.25-inch screens that are connected, similar to the Kia Seltos. Additional amenities can be the Kia-powered and ventilated front seats, several driving modes, and traction control settings.

Among other things, it might also have a Bose music system and a climate control system. The spy photos also show that the Clavis will have 12 parking sensors—six on each end—and a 360-degree camera.

Also, The photos reveal a radar module in the front, indicating that ADAS technology and front parking sensors will be available. A 360-degree camera, six airbags, ABS, a tire pressure monitoring system, and rear disc brakes are among the additional safety features that are anticipated but are not shown in the spy photos.

Powertrain Update

As previously reported, the Clavis will be available with both gasoline and electric drivetrains; the electric version is anticipated to be added to the lineup approximately half a year after the ICE. The same platform will support both models and while a hybrid version might be released later, all of the variants will have front-wheel drive.

Launch and Pricing

The Kia Clavis gasoline is expected to debut by the end of this year and go on sale early in the next year in the middle of 2025, according to sources. Due to its size and localization, the small SUV should therefore be priced reasonably, but be prepared to pay a little more than the Sonet, which is already available for Rs 7.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
