Tesla India is actively expanding its footprint on the ground in the country, and the second dealership is already on the way to life this time in Delhi, in posh Aerocity, close to the Indira Gandhi International airport.
The latest picture that has been posted on X (previously Twitter) shows that the site is under construction, which is why it is possible to assume that the showroom will be launched in August 2025.
This is after the first experience centre by Tesla was already opened in Mumbai during the long-awaited launch of Tesla into the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market.
As the audience is increasingly becoming interested in EVs, having a target audience in premium urban locations, Delhi is an obvious step forward as far as the expansion plan of Tesla is considered.
Model Y can now be booked all over India
The Tesla company recently opened the general booking of its highly sought Model Y crossover SUV in its own website countrywide. The Model Y is currently available in two trim levels, that is, Rear-Wheel Drive and Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive and priced at 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Both of the versions come in the form of CBUs (Completely Built Units), and thus have compelled a relatively high pricing of the product in comparison with other global markets.
The Model Y has a range of up to 622km certified with WLTP, making it a solid choice that should appeal to the drivers who are interested in long-distance electric mobility. It has a high performance of 201 kmph, 19-inch crossflow alloy wheels and an optional Full Self-Driving (FSD) at the price of an extra 6 lakh rupees.
Apparently, other custom colour options are available at additional costs, since other than the default Stealth Grey exterior and All Black interior, others will cost extra.
The Next Stage of Growth of a Premium EV
The new Delhi Aerocity dealership is not merely like a showroom; rather, it is a strategic move to give potential customers an actual feel of the cars of Tesla and then make the buying decision.
Introducing Tesla in Aerocity, with the elite customers being served by the location and Aerocity being a buzzing business hub, Tesla is clearly showcasing itself in the locations of focus to the target customer.
Tesla has a chance to establish a luxury EV foothold in India with the development of urban touchpoints and the promotion of online interactions, which may simply become a blueprint in the history of luxury EV consumption in this country in the future.
