Tata Sierra SUV Set for 2025 Launch – Petrol, Diesel, and EV Versions Coming

After the recent Tata Harrier EV launch, Tata Motors is preparing to bring back an iconic name- Sierra- now as a modern SUV for new customers, offered now with petrol, diesel, and as an EV, to compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara, which are in the same popular midsize SUV class.

Following the first edition of the Tata Harrier EV, Tata Motors now looks to usher in their next big launch - the all-new Sierra SUV. The Sierra has become iconic since 1991 and although it's new, it is now a capable competitor in confronting competition in the midsize SUV segment. The new Sierra will be available with electric, petrol, and diesel options and will appeal to many types of buyers.

Launch Timeline and Pricing Expectations

Tata has confirmed that the EV will launch before ICE. The official prices are likely to be announced around Diwali 2025, although sources say:

  • ICE Sierra: ₹12 lakh to ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom)

  • Sierra EV: ₹22 lakh to ₹28 lakh (ex-showroom)

This pricing would strategically counter the segment leaders, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara.

Features and Tech: Premium Experience on Offer

The Sierra will almost definitely be laden with luxe tech and comfort, much of which may draw from the new Harrier EV, such as:

  • 14.53-inch Samsung Neo QLED infotainment display

  • 10.25 inch digital instrument display

  • JBL audio with Dolby atmos

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • Power-adjustable and ventilated front seats

  • 540-degree camera

  • Level 2 ADAS

  • Built-in dashcam

  • V2L and V2V-capable (EV only)

  • Drive & terrain modes

  • Over the air (OTA) firmware updates

For the ICE version, Tata will likely have a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 2.0L diesel engine, with options for a manual or automatic transmissions.

The Sierra EV is likely to have a 65kWh or 75kWh battery pack, and potentially with a dual-motor option on the higher variants, similar to the Harrier EV.

Given the extensive options for powertrain and features offered, Tata Sierra is going to be a game-changer in the SUV segment in 2025.
