Tata Punch Prices Hiked by Up to Rs 7,000

Tata Motors has revised prices across the Punch lineup starting July 2026, with the CNG-AMT variants attracting the steepest increase. Here is a full breakdown of how much each variant costs now, along with a look at the micro SUV's current engine and gearbox options for prospective buyers.

  • CNG-AMT variants of the Punch receive the steepest price hike

  • Revised prices are effective from July 2026 onwards

Tata Motors has nudged up prices on its Punch micro SUV, with the revision taking effect this month. Anyone who has been eyeing a Punch would do well to understand exactly how the numbers have shifted before heading to a showroom.

The current Punch is the facelifted version that arrived back in January 2026, bringing along a turbo petrol engine, a mild styling refresh and a few extra features over the outgoing model. It continues to be sold in six trims, namely Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished+, each available with its own mix of engine and gearbox choices.

How Much More Will Buyers Pay Now

The steepest hike, amounting to Rs 7,000, applies to every CNG variant paired with the AMT gearbox. A slightly smaller increase of Rs 6,000 covers the petrol automatic versions of the Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished+ (S) trims, as well as the CNG manual versions of the Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure (S) and Accomplished trims.

The remaining variants, which include the manual versions of both the naturally aspirated and turbo petrol engines, have gone up by a comparatively modest Rs 5,000.

None of these figures amount to a dramatic jump in isolation, but taken together they do push the Punch's overall pricing higher across the board, which is worth keeping in mind for anyone finalising a purchase this month.

Engine and Gearbox Options on Offer

The Punch is sold with three distinct powertrains. The 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol unit makes 87bhp and comes with either a five speed manual gearbox or an AMT. The same engine block, when running on CNG, produces 72bhp and retains the same choice of manual or AMT transmissions.

Sitting above these is the 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine, the newest addition to the range, which puts out 118bhp and 170Nm of torque, though it is offered solely with a six speed manual gearbox.

What This Means for Prospective Buyers

For someone comparing variants, the CNG-AMT combination now carries the biggest jump in absolute terms, even though it remains one of the more practical picks for buyers watching their running costs. Those leaning towards the turbo petrol manual, meanwhile, face the smallest increase of the lot. Either way, the changes are modest enough that they should not significantly alter buying decisions, though they do mark yet another instance of manufacturers adjusting prices through the middle of the year rather than waiting for the usual April revision cycle.

The Punch remains one of Tata's best selling models in India, competing in a segment crowded with rivals from Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai among others. With the turbo petrol engine now part of the lineup, the micro SUV has broadened its appeal to buyers wanting a bit more performance without stepping up to a larger vehicle.
