Will the new rival be a mini Kushaq?

It is expected that the model will be built on the same MQB-A0 IN platform that presently powers vehicles like the Volkswagen Tiguan, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Skoda Kushaq, but resized to ensure that the final product stayed within the segment's 4-meter length restriction. It is also expected fundamental stylistic similarities with the Kushaq as well, particularly about the front fascia.

Skoda sub-4-meter SUV Features and Performance

Features: The new subcompact SUV will likely come equipped with many of the comforts found in the Kushaq, such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a touch-enabled climate control panel, ventilated front seats, a sunroof, and LED headlights. Both the power-adjustable driver's seat and the 10-inch touchscreen found in the highest-spec Kushaq models should be included. The sub-4m SUV is expected to be based on the same platform as the Kushaq, which currently holds a 5-star safety rating. As such, the levels of protection should be comparable. The anticipated attributes for the same would be a 360-degree camera in addition to the six airbags, ESC, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Performance: Skoda must release the new SUV at a competitive price to compete with well-known rivals. Possible with tax advantages; applicable to cars under 4 metres with engines smaller than 1.2 litres. It looks like the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine will power the Skoda sub-4-meter SUV. Peak torque is produced at 178 Nm, with a maximum power output of 115 PS. Six-speed AT and six-speed manual transmissions are available for selection. Skoda additionally supplies the 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine for the Kushaq. With 250 Nm and 150 PS, it produces. Six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG gearbox options are available.

Volkswagen will prioritise EVs

The MQB-A0 IN platform is currently the basis for the SUV and sedan that Skoda-Volkswagen offers: the Kushaq and Taigun, as well as the Slavia and Virtus. It's unlikely, though, that the new Skoda sub-4m SUV will have a Volkswagen-branded twin. Volkswagen will instead concentrate its efforts on developing an EV for the mass market in India.

On February 27, is Skoda going to reveal its new SUV? What is the expected price?

At the upcoming Skoda India Event on February 27, more information about the upcoming sub-4-meter SUV will be revealed. There may also be updates on the company's expansion plans, which may include the introduction of new EVs. The senior global management of Skoda will be present at the function. On February 27th, enthusiasts can expect some exciting news.

Skoda is probably not going to concentrate on entry-level pricing, even though it is joining a very competitive market. Rather, anticipate a high-end product that will probably start at Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
