Skoda Kylaqs Booking And Delivery Timelines Unleashed

Skoda Kylaq's booking and delivery timelines unleashed

Skoda Auto India has unveiled its latest sub-four-metre SUV, the Skoda Kylaq, aimed at taking on competitors like the Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 300. Marking an exciting entry in the compact SUV market, the Kylaq is poised to be Skoda’s most affordable offering in India, starting at ₹7.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

This new SUV comes with impressive features, offering a taste of Skoda’s commitment to style, safety, and performance, all packaged at a competitive price point.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Kylaq’s booking and delivery timelines, and why it’s stirring excitement among SUV enthusiasts in India.

Booking Starts in December

Skoda has announced that bookings for the Kylaq will open on December 02, 2024. This date will also coincide with the release of variant-wise pricing, providing a detailed look at what different configurations of the Kylaq will cost.

Skoda seems intent on making the booking process seamless, with online and in-dealer booking options likely to attract a wide range of potential buyers.

First Deliveries Planned for January 2025

Following the booking launch, Skoda plans to start delivering the Kylaq on January 27, 2025. This timeline gives customers just under two months from booking to delivery, a relatively short wait compared to some competitors in the segment.

This fast-tracked delivery schedule indicates that Skoda is prepared for strong demand and has set up its production lines accordingly.

A Star at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025

The Skoda Kylaq will also be showcased at the upcoming 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, giving attendees an up-close look at the vehicle before it reaches the roads in large numbers. This public display could further build excitement and provide more transparency for buyers, allowing them to see the Kylaq’s design and features in real life.

Built on the MQB-A0-IN Platform

The Kylaq is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, a specialized architecture designed for Skoda and Volkswagen cars in India. This platform is already in use by some of Skoda’s other successful models, providing a proven foundation for handling, safety, and durability.

The shared platform also allows Skoda to maintain high production quality and consistency while tailoring the vehicle to the unique demands of the Indian market.

Power and Performance

Under the hood, the Skoda Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 114 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque. This engine, known for its balance between performance and fuel efficiency, is paired with two transmission options: a six-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed torque converter automatic.

These options allow buyers to choose between the hands-on control of a manual transmission or the convenience of an automatic.

This powerful engine combined with its compact size makes the Kylaq a strong competitor for city driving as well as occasional highway trips. The Kylaq’s powertrain has been fine-tuned to cater to both efficiency and responsiveness, a balance that many urban drivers will appreciate.

Key Features and Interior Highlights

The Skoda Kylaq offers a set of features designed to cater to modern demands for connectivity, comfort, and safety. Some of the standout features include all-LED lighting, split headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, and black roof rails that give the Kylaq a rugged, stylish appearance.

Inside, Skoda has included a virtual cockpit with a fully digital display, adding a tech-forward appeal. The front seats offer electric adjustment and ventilation, enhancing comfort for drivers and passengers.

Ambient lighting and Skoda’s connected car technology bring a sense of luxury that stands out in this price range, while six airbags and a host of other safety features emphasize Skoda’s commitment to passenger protection.

Competitive Pricing Strategy

Starting at ₹7.89 lakh, Kylaq’s entry-level price point positions it attractively against competitors. Skoda’s decision to offer a range of trims and features is intended to capture a broad audience, from budget-conscious buyers to those looking for premium touches in an affordable SUV.

With the detailed variant-wise prices set to be revealed next month, buyers will get a clearer idea of the options available to match their preferences and budget.

The Skoda Kylaq arrives at an ideal time as the demand for compact SUVs continues to rise in India. With its attractive starting price, modern features, and Skoda’s reliability, the Kylaq is positioned to appeal to a wide range of buyers, from young professionals to families looking for an affordable yet stylish SUV.

Skoda’s well-planned booking and delivery schedule shows its commitment to delivering a smooth purchase experience.

As the Kylaq rolls out across the country, it’s likely to gain traction as a go-to option in the compact SUV segment.
