Skoda Kylaq: Complete Price List and Bookings Open December 2

Skoda India is gearing up to make a significant splash in the competitive compact SUV segment with the launch of its smallest and most affordable SUV, the Skoda Kylaq. Following the announcement of its stunning starting price of ₹7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), the Czech automaker is set to reveal the full price list of all variants on December 2, 2024. Alongside, bookings for the Kylaq will officially commence.

This launch marks Skoda’s bold entry into a fiercely contested segment dominated by popular models such as the Mahindra XUV3OO, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Tata Nexon.

Competitive Pricing and Trim Options

The Kylaq’s ₹7.89 lakh starting price positions it as a strong contender in the compact SUV market, undercutting several rivals. The SUV will be available in four trims:

  1. Classic

  2. Signature

  3. Signature+

  4. Prestige

The high level of localization in production, coupled with shared components from the Skoda Kushaq, has allowed Skoda to offer the Kylaq at such competitive pricing. This strategy highlights the brand’s intent to capture a broader audience while maintaining its hallmark quality and engineering.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Skoda Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 115hp and 178Nm of torque. Customers can choose between two transmission options:

  • A 6-speed manual gearbox

  • A 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, available across all trims.

The Kylaq’s performance figures are equally impressive, with a 0-100kph time of around 10.5 seconds, ensuring a lively driving experience.

Feature Highlights

The Kylaq comes well-equipped, offering a robust mix of comfort, safety, and technology across all variants. While Skoda has yet to release a full feature list, early reports suggest that even the base trims will include essential safety features and creature comforts. Higher trims are expected to add premium features, ensuring the Kylaq is both practical and aspirational for buyers.

Rivals and Market Impact

The Skoda Kylaq enters a crowded market where competitors like the Mahindra XUV3OO, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Tata Nexon have already established strong footholds. However, with its competitive pricing, attractive design, and Skoda’s reputation for quality, the Kylaq is well-positioned to carve out a significant share in this segment.

With the full price list and bookings set to be unveiled on December 02, anticipation for the Kylaq’s market entry is at an all-time high. Skoda’s move into the compact SUV space is poised to redefine the segment and attract a new wave of customers.
