In a bid to captivate the Indian SUV market, Skoda has revamped its variant lineup for the Kodiaq, offering only the top-of-the-line L&K variant. Moreover, the Czech automaker has slashed prices for the luxurious Kodiaq L&K, making it even more appealing to discerning buyers with a new price tag of Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Kodiaq L&K variant boasts an impressive array of features, elevating its status as a flagship SUV. Dynamic chassis control, heated and ventilated front seats and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display enhance comfort and convenience, while advanced safety technologies like a 360-degree view camera, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and hill descent control ensure peace of mind on every journey. Notably, the L&K variant also showcases variant-exclusive cosmetic details, including 'Laurin & Klement' branding both inside and out.
Under the hood, the India-spec Skoda Kodiaq is powered by a potent 2-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DSG (dual-clutch automatic) gearbox, delivering an impressive performance rating of 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque. The power is seamlessly distributed to all four wheels via the all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, ensuring a dynamic driving experience on varied terrains.
Excitement mounts as Skoda gears up to introduce the all-new Kodiaq, slated to make its debut following a global unveiling in October 2023. Boasting a refreshed exterior design, an all-new cabin layout, and an expanded features suite, the new Kodiaq promises to redefine the SUV segment. While it will offer different engine options in select markets, Indian buyers can expect to enjoy the convenience of a single petrol-automatic AWD variant. Notable features of the upcoming model include a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an all-new multi-input climate control system, and advanced safety features bolstered by advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
In the competitive landscape of SUVs, the Skoda Kodiaq faces off against formidable rivals such as the Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, and MG Gloster.
