Skoda Auto India has capped its 25 years in India and 130 years globally with its highest-ever sales of 7,422 units in March 2025. This record came as the Kylaq SUV, with fervent demand as the newly launched model consolidated its position along with the Slavia sedan and Kushaq SUV.
March was an important milestone in the journey of Skoda in India, one which was set up by aggressive marketing and a solid product portfolio. This has also been fueled by the success of the recently launched Kylaq, Skoda's first-ever sub-4 meter SUV, and its most affordable offering in India.
Unveiled in November 2024 and made available for purchase in January 2025, the Kylaq has already received over 15,000 bookings, and the company is in an all-hands-on-deck mode for a rapid ramp-up in production to clear all pending orders by the end of May. "With the launch of the all-new Kylaq, we committed to a 'New Era' in our India journey.
The 7,422 cars sold in March 2025 pay tribute to this journey taking shape & is also the culmination of sustained planning, efforts, & strategy aimed at democratizing European technology on Indian roads.
Customer feedback confirms that Kylaq comes with an exceptional price-value proposition; comfort, space & safety attributes from a higher segment enter into the sub-four-metre SUV segment.
“So, to enable more customers & celebrate Kylaq's success, we decided to extend the introductory pricing until the end of April", said Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India.
Kylaq: Growth Driver and Safety Features
The Kylaq is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform shared with the Kushaq and Slavia. It most recently obtained a 5-star rating in Bharat NCAP, thus becoming the third Skoda vehicle in India to achieve the maximum score given for adult and child occupant safety.
Skoda Auto India further aims to develop its ownership experience to complete the 25th-anniversary celebrations. Digital showrooms, online-only sales, Skoda Service Cam, Anytime Warranty, and Supercare maintenance plans are among the above-listed initiatives to ensure transparent and hassle-free customer service. Skoda has also introduced a complimentary 1-year Supercare package for all new customers.
Increasing Dealer Network and Market Development
To further foster growth, Skoda Auto India is expanding its touchpoints from 120 in 2021 to over 280 now while chalking out plans to reach 350 by the end of 2025. The extended network of dealers, complimented by attractive maintenance solutions, has helped the brand strengthen its base in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
Skoda's great run thus far in March 2025 strongly sets the tone for the rest of the Silver Jubilee year. Backed with value, safety & customer satisfaction, Skoda is looking forward to cementing its place further in this competitive automotive landscape called India.
