Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India, has released the sales performance for March 2025 and the entire financial year FY2024-25, reporting continued growth in key segments.
In March 2025, the company sold a whopping 1,92,984 units as compared to 1,87,196 units in March 2024, attaining a modest year-on-year rise. Maruti Sales: March 2025 The bulk of monthly sales came from the Domestic Passenger Vehicle, where Maruti Suzuki shipped 1,50,743 units against 1,52,718 units in the same month last year.
Mini and Compact segments (Alto, S-Presso, Swift, Baleno, etc.) witnessed a slight drop in numbers as well with 78,561 units sold in March 2025 versus 81,673 units the previous year, while Utility Vehicles (Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, etc.) continued the growth path with 61,097 units compared to 58,436 in March 2024.
Thus, on the Commercial Vehicle front, it clocked Super Carry sales of 2,391 units, which also fell against March 2024 numbers of 3,612. Total domestic sales registered 160,016 units for passenger vehicles, LCVs, and sales to other OEMs, just shy of the previous year's numbers of 161,304. Meanwhile, exports were a bright spot for Maruti in March 2025, shipping a total of 32,968 units, way up from 25,892 units in March 2024, bringing total March 2025 sales (domestic + export) to 1,92,984 units, as against 1,87,196 units a year back.
FY2024-25 Performance: Maruti Crosses 2.23 Million Sales Mark. FY2024-25 saw Maruti Suzuki report an all-time high annual sales of 2,234,266 units, which is an increase from 2,135,323 units in FY2023-24.
Within the domestic passenger vehicle bracket, the company sold 1,760,767 units, almost the same as the 1,759,881 units sold the previous year. Despite some downward movement, the compact segment (Baleno, Swift, Dzire, etc.) remained one of the strongest, standing at 770,737 units as opposed to 828,015 units the previous year.
The utility vehicle segment showed strong growth at 720,186 units this year compared to 642,296 units in the last. Sales to OEMs soared off the roof, recording 106,422 units in FY2024-25, more than doubling from last year's 58,612 units; exports grew to 332,585 units from 283,067 units, showing good signs of Maruti's global expansion. Throughout falling van and LCV sales, Maruti went on to sustain its leadership thanks to a strong export philosophy, a diversified product portfolio, and a growing utility vehicle lineup in the Indian market.
