Should You Wait For Mahindra Thar 5 Door 5 Features To Expect

Should You Wait for Mahindra Thar 5-Door? 5 Features to Expect

Mahindra is set to launch the highly anticipated Thar 5-door on August 15. Enhanced with premium features from Mahindra’s flagship XUV700, the Thar 5-door will compete with the Force Gurkha 5-door, Maruti Suzuki Jimny, and its sibling, the Scorpio N. Here are the expected features of the Thar 5-door.

Bigger Infotainment System

The new Thar 5-door will feature a 10.25-inch infotainment system, the largest in its segment, excluding the Scorpio N. This is a significant upgrade from the current 7-inch touchscreen in the Thar 3-door. The new system will offer navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Mahindra's connected tech, AdrenoX Connect.

All-Digital Instrument Cluster

Following the trend in new Mahindra vehicles, the Thar 5-door will sport an all-digital driver's console, borrowed from the XUV700. Unlike the semi-digital instrument cluster in the Scorpio N, this will be a full digital setup. The current Thar 3-door has traditional twin analog dials for the rev meter and speedometer with a TFT multi-information display.

Enhanced Safety with Six Airbags

Mahindra is expected to improve safety by offering six airbags as standard in the new Thar 5-door. The current Thar comes with two airbags and has received a 4-star safety rating from Global NCAP. It scored 4 stars for the safety of both adult and child occupants.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

The new 5-door Thar is expected to come equipped with ADAS, similar to the XUV700, which was the first in its segment to introduce Level 2 ADAS. The ADAS suite will include Smart Pilot Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Traffic Sign Recognition.

Dual-Zone Climate Control

The new 5-door Thar is anticipated to feature dual-zone climate control. This feature allows the driver and passenger to set different temperatures according to their preferences. Mahindra first introduced dual-zone climate control in the XUV300 in 2019, and it is now available in the XUV700, electric XUV400, and the 3X0.

With these expected features, the Mahindra Thar 5-door promises to be a formidable addition to the off-roader segment, blending rugged capability with modern amenities.
