Mini India is set to introduce the fifth-generation Cooper S and the first-ever electric Countryman. Pre-launch bookings are now open, and the official launch date for both models is July 24, 2024, alongside other BMW products. Customers can pre-book these exciting new additions at any authorized Mini dealership in the country.
Cooper S: A Modern Twist on a Classic
The new Cooper S retains its iconic silhouette but with a refreshed design. Key updates include a sleeker grille, classic round headlights, and a minimalist bumper for a sharper look. At the rear, new triangular LED taillights with a Union Jack motif add a British touch.
Powering the Cooper S is a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine delivering 204 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, an increase of 26 horsepower and 20 Nm. This results in a swifter 0-100 km/h time of 6.6 seconds, 0.1 seconds faster than its predecessor. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission ensures smooth and responsive driving.
All-Electric Mini Countryman: A Historic Shift
The new generation Mini Countryman makes its debut in India first as an electric vehicle, with an internal combustion engine version expected later. The design follows an evolutionary approach, with a closed-off grille and aerodynamically designed alloy wheels signaling its electric nature. Distinctive body cladding adds a touch of ruggedness.
The electric Countryman represents a significant milestone for Mini in India, combining innovative design with eco-friendly technology.
