Renault India Launches Summer Service Camp with Attractive Discounts and New Ownership Plans

Renault India will hold a nationwide summer service from May 19 - 25, 2025 with some exciting discounts/benefits for customers. Additionally, Renault has plans to acquire full ownership of the Renault-Nissan alliance's manufacturing facility in India, this step forward represents the new future for Renault with its growth in the country and the future of collaboration.

Renault India has initiated a PAN-India Summer Service Camp, which will be held between May 19 and May 25, 2025, at all its service centers, to provide customers with enticing discounts on several car services, parts and accessories, along with several complimentary gifts and activation events.

The service camp includes about 580 service touchpoints across India, the Summer Service Camp aims to increase customer satisfaction and motivate them to take preventive maintenance to preserve their vehicle.

During the service camp event, customers will receive a discount of up to 15% off on select parts, labor charges and value-added services. Customers will also receive a discount of 10% on engine oil replacements, extended warranties and roadside assistance. There are also exciting offers on tyres and accessories with discounts on select items of up to 50%.

In addition, customers who register on the MY Renault app will receive an extra discount of 5% on parts and accessories. Renault's idea with the service camp is to ensure that customers have a smooth and rewarding ownership experience.

“Renault India aims to provide superior after-sales care, and the Summer Camp demonstrates our commitment to providing exceptional customer engagements outside the original point-of-sale with exclusive offers and interactive experiences to make service visits more exciting," said Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Renault India.

Renault’s Strategic Move to Acquire Full Ownership in India

In a major announcement, Renault Group recently shared last month that it is acquiring the remaining 51% of Renault-Nissan Automotive India Private Ltd (RNAIPL). The acquisition would allow Renault to have greater control of its Chennai plant which has been operating since 2010.

The Chennai plant has served as a strategic asset in aligning Renault with the Renault-Nissan alliance. Previously, Renault held a 30% share of the plant. While the factory was under ownership of Nissan, Nissan was preparing essentially to outsource Renault by holding a 70% ownership stake.

However, Renault and Nissan will come to terms under a contract in 2023 in which Nissan will accept a minority stake of 51% ownership. Renault and Nissan agreed to provide $600 million dollars to develop six all-new passenger vehicles for the Indian marketplace.

Under the latest modifications of the alliance, they have again relaxed the cross ownership stipulations, where the two manufacturers have ownership levels of a minimum of ten percent (down from 15 percent). This allows them to share resources and permits a joint-venture to be established with ownership arrangements that have been relaxed. Along with the eventual joint venture, Renault is also looking to manufacture a compact electric vehicle for Nissan, with production at the Chennai factory based on the strategic importance of the alliance in the Indian automotive space.

The Summer camp and deal announcements by Renault India illustrate that Renault is not just serious about building the brand's presence in the world's fourth largest automotive market, they are also serious about building relationships with emerging customers.
